What is Psychosocial Rehabilitation?
Psychosocial Rehabilitation is provided in a non residential group setting for two or more consecutive hours per day and provides education to teach individuals about mental illness, substance abuse and appropriate medication which promotes independent living, social, interpersonal skills and relapse prevention.
The Target Population?
Adults who are experiencing emotional illness that results in functional impairments in major life activities.

Medical Necessity:
Diagnostic Criteria
Members must meet tow of the following criteria on a continuing or intermittent basis:

Difficulty establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships

Difficulties in activities of daily living
-
Inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions, documented by mental health, social services or judicial system, have been necessary

Difficulty in cognitive ability such that they cannot recognize personal danger or significantly inappropriate behavior.
Members must meet one of the following criteria:

Long-term or repeated psychiatric hospitalizations

Difficulties in activities of daily living and interpersonal skills
-
Limited or non-existent support system
-
Unable to function in the community without intensive intervention
-
Require long-term services to be maintained in the community
